Hawaii funds negotiated public employee compensation

Beginning July 1, 2025, Hawaii funds negotiated employment costs for bargaining unit 5 and corresponding employees excluded from bargaining coverage. The law provides about $7.78 million in general funds for fiscal year 2025–2026 and $18.10 million for 2026–2027. The finance director must send the funds to the appropriate state departments for use in each fiscal year. Funds not spent or committed lapse on June 30, 2026, and June 30, 2027, respectively. The law does not set a payment amount for each employee.
