The law protects people who seek medical or law enforcement help in good faith, including people for whom someone else seeks help. They are protected from arrest, prosecution, conviction, civil forfeiture, and other penalties under certain prostitution laws when the evidence or probable cause came from seeking help. Under the street-prostitution law, this protection does not apply when a person offers or agrees to give something of value for sexual conduct. The safe harbor does not cover other crimes.
