Hawaii funds more SNAP access help

Hawaii provides $1.1 million for SNAP access in each fiscal year, 2025–2026 and 2026–2027. The Department of Human Services can use the money for higher pay in SNAP-related jobs, new positions focused on improving access in economically disadvantaged communities, or other efforts to increase participation. The department must spend the funds on these purposes, and the amount paid out can be adjusted as needed. The law does not change SNAP eligibility or benefit amounts.
