Public officer insurance rules repealed

Beginning April 16, 2026, the law repeals the state rule on public officer insurance beneficiaries. It removes the mandate on who must get the policy money and how it is used. Your policy terms or other laws now decide who gets the proceeds. Some officers gain more choice, while others lose a guaranteed rule.
