2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.

State vehicle leases must allow B-20

Passenger vehicles with diesel engines that are rented or leased under state contracts must be rated by the maker to use B-20 or higher biodiesel. This standard applies to contracts issued or renewed on or after July 1, 2026. State agencies and vendors must follow this requirement.

Capitol events and open-carry rules

The Department of Administrative Services sets and posts rules for the Capitol buildings, grounds, and the Ankeny lab. Breaking these rules, other than parking rules, is a simple misdemeanor. Public outdoor events must be requested by an online application. The director replies by letter or a signed agreement that lists conditions. The director cannot decide based on how many events you held or requested before. The rules ban open carry of pistols or revolvers at the Capitol for anyone but peace officers, while still allowing lawful carry, transport, or possession. Effective April 9, 2026.
