Counties reimbursed $50/day for sexually violent predator holds

Beginning 07/01/2025, the Department of Health and Human Services pays counties $50 per day. The payment covers each day a person under a sexually violent predator civil commitment (Chapter 229A) is held after transfer or confined in a county jail. The department pays these reimbursements using money for the Cherokee state mental health institute unit, or funds moved under section 218.6.
