No local bans on fuel-powered equipment

Beginning July 1, 2025, state and local governments cannot ban or limit fuel-powered equipment just because of the fuel type. You can own, store, transfer, acquire, operate, maintain, repair, or reuse such equipment. Any existing rules based only on fuel source are void and unenforceable. Counties and cities cannot adopt or keep such rules.

No fuel-type inventory mandates for sellers

Beginning July 1, 2025, if you sell fuel-powered equipment or parts, governments cannot make you sell certain fuel types or keep stock of them just because of the fuel source. You choose what equipment and parts to carry. This applies to rules, ordinances, and resolutions.
