Beginning 07/01/2025, the law bans using or making bots to buy event tickets online. You cannot use extra IP addresses, accounts, or emails to beat posted limits. You cannot bypass queues, waiting periods, presale codes, or entry security. The law defines what counts as a bot and excludes browser autofill and password managers. Violations count as unfair business practices, letting the attorney general use civil penalties and other tools.
Beginning 07/01/2025, ticket sellers must report known bot violations to the attorney general within five calendar days after a request. This duty applies only when the seller has actual knowledge. Anyone with actual knowledge can also report a violation. The attorney general sets up an online system to take these reports.
