Free turkey license for farm owners and tenants

Beginning July 1, 2025, the Iowa DNR issues one free wild turkey license each year per farm unit. The owner or one family member can get one. The tenant or one family member can get one. You do not need to live on the farm. Each license works only on that farm and lets the holder take one turkey. You can use it in any open bow or firearm turkey season with an allowed method. You do not need to pick a season when you apply. You must apply on the department’s form. All other hunting rules still apply.
