More support and contests for school robotics

Starting July 1, 2025, the Iowa Department of Education provides resources and technical help to school districts to start career and technical student groups for robotics. These groups must follow the federal Perkins Act and rules set by the Iowa State Board of Education. An organization that gets dues or membership money from a public school district, or money from a nonpublic school that comes from the state for dues, can sponsor or run high school robotics contests. This does not stop that group from running other interscholastic contests. Families and students get easier access to robotics teams and events.
