Bill Overview

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Depredation permits for $1,000 damage

Beginning July 1, 2025, the Department must issue depredation or deer shooting permits to any landowner with $1,000 or more in damage. The damage must be to crops, trees, horticultural products, or nursery stock, and caused by wild animals. This sets a clear dollar threshold for eligibility. These permits let landowners address wildlife damage under state rules.

Use youth deer tags across seasons

Beginning July 1, 2025, youth deer hunting licenses are sold during the same periods as general deer licenses, including during established seasons. A youth license holder may use the license and tag in the issued season or any later established season. The hunter must use a method of take allowed for each season. Once the tag is filled, the license and tag are not valid for later seasons.
