Stricter Iowa surveyor licensing rules
Beginning July 1, 2025, applicants must pass an exam on Iowa laws to get a professional land surveyor license. The Board cannot issue temporary surveyor licenses. This adds time and out-of-pocket testing costs and may delay when applicants can start paid work.
