Higher wildfire surcharge on improved forest lots

The law raises the maximum wildfire preparedness surcharge on each improved private forest lot to $100. The Idaho State Board of Land Commissioners sets the exact per-lot amount, up to that cap, and it is on top of other assessments. Beginning July 1, 2026, a surcharge applies to each improved lot you own. Your total cost equals the board-set amount times your number of improved lots.
