Help with cancer trial costs in Indiana

Beginning July 1, 2025, Indiana law allows organizations to run programs that help patients pay cancer clinical trial costs. Patients must live in Indiana, qualify for a cancer trial, and have income at or below 700% of the federal poverty level. They must also live in an area the operator considers underserved and meet its financial-need guidelines. Programs pay approved reasonable costs, including travel, lodging, parking, tolls, and other costs the operator allows. Operators may also pay these costs for one person attending to support the patient. Operators must work with health care providers to notify potential applicants, give written program and eligibility details, and review applications. Programs may accept public or private gifts, grants, and donations. No organization must offer a program, payments require operator approval, and the law sets no payment amount.
