Renters get less time to reclaim belongings

Beginning July 1, 2025, Indiana renters have 45 days, down from 90, to claim property held under this tenant-property storage law. The clock starts when the tenant receives the required notice. If the tenant does not claim the belongings within 45 days, the warehouse or storage facility may sell them. Sales must follow the existing rules under IC 26-1-7-210(b).
