Teachers get yearly rights information

Beginning July 1, 2025, Indiana’s attorney general must email teachers a rights letter each year by July 30. It summarizes state and federal protections, including rights tied to performance reviews. The education department, working with the state education employment relations board, must arrange to share active teachers’ names and email addresses. That contact information is confidential and exempt from public disclosure.

Unclaimed property newspaper notices no longer required

Beginning July 1, 2025, Indiana no longer requires annual county newspaper notices for unclaimed property worth more than $100. The attorney general must still maintain a public, searchable website or database listing apparent owners of property worth $10 or more. The site must include claim instructions, a printable claim form, and phone and email contact information.
