Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.

Indiana leaves an interstate compact

Indiana withdraws from an interstate compact effective January 1, 2026. Before that date, the governor must notify each other member state if the compact requires notice. The governor must also certify to the Legislative Council that notice was given or no other states are members. The compact-related chapter expires July 1, 2026. No direct change to household costs, benefits, or services is specified.

Indiana reviews inactive state groups

Beginning July 1, 2025, Indiana's Interim Study Committee on Government reviews reports from certain groups created by state law. Covered groups include at least one legislator and are not staffed by the Legislative Services Agency. In even-numbered years, the committee must propose legislation to end groups that have not met in the preceding two years. It must also propose ending groups it identifies through its report reviews. These proposals go to the Legislative Council; the law does not itself end any groups or change household benefits or costs.
