Fewer wage records for minor league players

Beginning July 1, 2025, Indiana excludes qualifying minor league baseball players from its wage-law definition of employee. Players must have a minor league baseball contract and receive pay under a collective bargaining agreement. That agreement must expressly set wages and working conditions. Employers no longer need daily and weekly work-hour or wage records for these players, though other required records remain required. The law does not change pay rates or remove federal duties, but fewer records may make wage disputes harder.
