Beginning July 1, 2026, the law defines what counts as a “notice of withdrawal” for candidates and nominees. It includes a written withdrawal, a refusal of a nomination, a request about how the name is printed on the ballot, or a written choice of which nomination to accept. If the notice lists a different address than the voter record, the signature also asks the county to update the voter address. County voter registration offices must treat the signed notice as an address-change request in that case.
