Beginning July 1, 2026, county recorders must accept electronic documents for recording and take fees and taxes online. They must store, index, and make electronic records searchable, and keep paper filings in the same index. Some items are exempt from e-filing: military discharges, property surveys, plats, and documents that contain address confidentiality program identifying information. Recorders may also convert old paper records to digital and work with other officials to enable online approvals and payments.
