Indiana expands tax breaks for sports groups

Effective upon passage, the law adds the Women's National Basketball Association and its affiliates to Indiana's sports-event tax exemptions. It also updates eligibility for the College Football Playoff Group. The exemptions cover eligible groups' property, revenue, and spending tied to qualifying Indiana events and related planning visits. Qualifying events include basketball All-Star Weekend activities and the College Football Playoff National Championship held after December 31, 2021. NCAA, NBA, and WNBA employee wages normally subject to Indiana income tax remain taxable; this exemption does not cover them.
