Sexual assault response training and coordination

Kentucky hospitals offering emergency services must train all emergency medical services staff on sexual assault response. Hospitals must develop training with the new Sexual Assault Response Team Advisory Committee, covering response rules, resources, evidence collection, and victim services. The committee advises state agencies, develops model response policies, and helps regional rape crisis centers form response teams. It also reports sexual assault statistics and recommends ways to improve coordination. Its co-chairs are the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs executive director and the Kentucky State Police commissioner or a designee.
