Louisiana brewers gain farmers market sales

Manufacturers or brewers that own and operate a brewing facility entirely in Louisiana can sell finished products directly to consumers. These sales can take place at farmers markets and similar venues defined by the commissioner through formal rulemaking. Brewers must notify the commissioner at least five days before their first market date. Products must be priced consistently with current prices in that geographic area. Brewers must also comply with Louisiana's alcohol rules in R.S. 26:286.
