Higher assessment cap for Orleans Parish hotels

Beginning August 1, 2025, tourism groups in Orleans Parish can assess member hotels up to 2.75% of daily room charges. This raises the cap from 1%; groups do not have to charge the maximum. The group's articles or bylaws must authorize the assessment. Its board must approve the charge and intended uses by resolution, and assessed hotels must approve it in a referendum. Money can fund destination marketing, sales, public relations, and activities the group judges directly or indirectly support economic development, the traveler economy, or tourism growth.
