Wicomico businesses gain to-go event sales permits

Beginning July 1, 2025, Wicomico County municipalities can get event-area alcohol licenses for up to seven consecutive days. Municipalities pay $45 per day. Businesses with Class B beer, wine, and liquor licenses must be within or immediately next to the licensed event area. They can get linked to-go permits for the same period, paying $20 per day. Customers can carry their beer, wine, and liquor into that area in approved cups and drink it there. The county licensing board must set rules for event areas, sales hours, age checks, cups, public notice, and hearings. Its rules must also cover public safety and event security, and businesses must follow applicable laws and regulations.
