Maryland patients gain calcium score test coverage

Beginning January 1, 2026, Maryland Medicaid must cover calcium score testing, subject to the state budget and federal law. Health plans subject to this law must also cover the test when issued, delivered, or renewed in Maryland starting that date. Coverage must follow the latest American College of Cardiology guidelines. The law does not set a coverage amount or rules for patients' share of costs.
