Public alerts for high-risk escaped juveniles

Police can share limited details to help find an escaped juvenile. This applies when there is probable cause the youth poses a serious safety risk. The juvenile’s conduct must be an escape offense under state law if done by an adult. The agency head or a designee decides to issue the alert. Details can include a photo, physical description, recent or likely locations, and that police are searching. Alerts tell people not to approach and to report sightings to law enforcement.
