Suspended elver dealers face broad bans
The law blocks anyone with a suspended license from doing any licensed activity. You cannot let others handle lobster traps, buoys, or vehicles marked with your suspended license. You also cannot work as crew for a Class II lobster and crab license holder. For violations that happen after this paragraph takes effect, you cannot crew for any license holder in activities covered by your suspended license. If your elver dealer license is suspended or revoked, you cannot hold a direct, substantial financial interest in any business that buys, moves, or sells elvers.
Elver licenses: 5-year address ban, Feb 1 deadline
The department does not issue new or supplemental elver dealer licenses after February 1 of the current licensing year. Apply on or before February 1 to be licensed that year. The department also denies a license to anyone using the same business address as a person who violated section 6404-K(1) for at least five years after that violation. Check the violation date to know when the five-year bar ends.
