Better warranty pay for watercraft dealers
Beginning June 12, 2025, watercraft franchisors must reimburse dealers at their usual retail price for parts used in warranty repairs. If the franchisor supplies a part, it must pay the dealer the difference between the dealer’s cost and the part’s full retail price, capped at the total labor reimbursement for that repair. Franchisors must also pay for actual warranty labor at no less than the dealer’s normal retail labor rate, and the time must be reasonable and backed by records. To qualify for payment, the dealer posts its non‑warranty labor rate where service customers can see it. These rules apply when the franchisor requires or allows the dealer to do warranty work or provide parts.
