Right to harvest, rules still apply

You have the right to hunt, fish, or trap for your own food, health, or well-being. This right comes from Maine’s constitutional right to food. You must still follow all Maine laws, seasons, bag limits, and license rules under Title 12. The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife enforces these rules. The law does not create new permits or exceptions.
