Maine funds renewable energy tax study

The law requires the Governor's Energy Office to study how Maine taxes renewable energy infrastructure. The state provides $75,000 from the General Fund in fiscal year 2025-26 for contracted services to support the study. There is no funding in fiscal year 2026-27. This is a one-time appropriation and does not change your taxes, benefits, or legal obligations.
