In-person absentee voting at clerk's office
Beginning May 29, 2025, you can vote by absentee ballot at your municipal clerk's office. This is allowed during the 30 days before an election and only during office hours. You do not need to fill out an absentee application to vote in the clerk's presence. The clerk checks your residence address and year of birth before issuing a ballot. After you vote, the clerk signs and marks your return envelope and makes sure your affidavit is complete.
No campaign ads near clerk's office
Beginning May 29, 2025, campaign ads cannot be displayed or handed out inside the clerk's office during the 30 days before an election while the office is open. The ban also covers public property within 250 feet of the office entrance. It does not apply on private property nearby or to ads on cars going to or parked at the office. A person may wear a campaign button up to 3 inches.
