PFAS info for private well owners

The Maine DEP must post the strictest federal or state PFAS limits on its website, shown in parts per trillion, and keep them updated. When the DEP tests your private well, it must mail and, if possible, email your results. That notice must compare your results to the strictest limits and list ways to reduce PFAS, testing companies, and any available financial help. If the DEP has not tested your well, it must still mail and, if possible, email you those limits and resources if it knows your well may be contaminated or if you ask by phone, mail, or email.
