State plans public database for large renewable projects
The law requires the Governor’s Energy Office to work with Environmental Protection, Labor, Agriculture, and the Public Utilities Commission. It studies how to show and keep data on renewable energy construction projects of 500 kilowatts or more, likely in a public database. The office seeks project details from developers, like project name and owner contact; location and land-use history; capacity, start date, permits and approvals; funding; and planned certification. The study sets rules for what projects to include, how often to update, who must report, and how to pay for and staff it. A report with recommendations is due to the Legislature’s Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee by February 1, 2026.
