Bill Overview
Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.
Priority for homeless and people leaving institutions
The department gives first priority for Bridging Rental Assistance vouchers to people leaving institutions, people leaving incarceration, and homeless people. These groups come before residents of certified recovery residences when vouchers are awarded. The department adopts rules to carry this out.
Housing vouchers for recovery home residents
People living in a certified recovery residence can apply for a Bridging Rental Assistance housing voucher to use after they leave. Living in a certified recovery residence is not a barrier to apply or receive a voucher. You must meet the department’s program rules. You cannot use the voucher to pay costs while living in a certified recovery residence. The department provides guidance and public education so residents and providers know their rights and duties.
