More kids allowed before child care license
If you care for children who live in your home, you can also care for up to 3 other children without a license. You can care for up to 4 other children if at least 2 of those children are siblings. No more than 3 of all children in your care can be under age 2. The law also defines a “family child care provider” as caring in your home for pay for 4 to 12 children under age 13 who are not your own or do not live in your home. These rules decide when you must get a family child care license.
