Clear practice rules for emergency medical workers

Beginning May 13, 2025, Maine law sets clear lines for emergency medical workers. When a person acts under an emergency medical services license, they are not governed by delegated authority from chapters 36 or 48. If a person acts under delegated authority from chapter 36 or 48, they cannot do those delegated tasks while also acting under an emergency medical services license. This prevents mixed supervision and makes it clear which rules apply in each setting.
