The law updates what Maine-regulated health insurers must include in denial letters. For treatment decisions and other benefit denials, the letter must list the reviewers’ credentials and confirm they did not make the first decision. The insurer must give a point of contact by name, address, and phone to answer enrollee questions. Insurers no longer have to include the reviewers’ names and job titles.
