Energy plan adds forecasts and tech reviews

The law updates the Comprehensive State Energy Plan. The department must include energy supply and demand forecasts. Those forecasts must be considered when updating the State Climate Action Plan and the Efficiency Maine Trust’s triennial plan. The plan must list approximate total award targets for the next three competitive solicitations. It must also assess new energy technologies for readiness, cost, and fit with state goals, prioritizing carbon-free and lowest-emission options. This does not set exact dollar amounts or require purchases.
