Outdoor rodent poisons banned at homes
Maine’s Board of Pesticides Control must ban the use of rodent poisons, including baits, in outdoor residential areas. Certified pesticide applicators under Maine law are exempt and can still apply them. Homeowners and renters need to use non-poison methods or hire a certified applicator for outdoor use. The Board must report on the ban to lawmakers by January 15, 2026.
