Longer transient stays in Maine’s unorganized townships

In areas regulated by the Maine Land Use Planning Commission, stays of up to 150 days in a calendar year count as “transient.” The old limit was 120 days. This applies in the State’s unorganized and deorganized townships and guides owners, managers, and renters. The law takes effect immediately on May 9, 2025. Track your total days each calendar year to stay within the 150-day rule.
