The law requires the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority to remove firefighting foam with fluorinated chemicals (AFFF) from property it owns or leases at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station. By December 31, 2025, it must shut off or disable any systems that could release the foam. By the same date, it must remove all loose foam and foam concentrate not inside a system. By July 1, 2026, it must secure enough funding to pay for a full purge. By December 31, 2026, it must purge all systems so no foam or residue remains. The law does not set funding sources or cleanup methods.
