Funds 24/7 poison help for families

The state provides $50,000 in fiscal year 2025-26 and $50,000 in fiscal year 2026-27 to the Northern New England Poison Center. The money keeps round-the-clock expert medical advice on harmful substances available by phone. Funding begins July 1, 2025. The Maine CDC in the Department of Health and Human Services manages the grant. People in the center’s service area can keep calling for help with possible poison exposures.
