Flood-risk study for Sandy River residents
The law requires the Maine Geological Survey to hire experts to study the Sandy River watershed. The study updates flood hazard data by analyzing river movement, erosion, and sediment. It gives people in the watershed clear information on flood risks and options to manage those risks. People in similar river systems also receive this information. The work is coordinated with FEMA and Maine agencies, and DACF must seek funding; no state appropriation is set.
