Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

First-time fair licenses: $750 each year

If you get an initial fair license, you must spend at least $750 each year on premiums for displays of farm products during the 4-year term. This minimum does not include premiums for equine or ox pulling contests, or for farm tractor and pickup truck pulling contests.

Four-year fair licenses and May 15 dates

Fair licenses now last four years instead of three. The license only covers the dates the commissioner assigns. The commissioner must announce fair dates and issue licenses by May 15 of the year before the first year of each 4-year period. Licenses are issued or renewed only if the applicant has complied and will comply with the chapter’s rules.
