Maine baitfish trappers: new check schedule

People who use baitfish traps in Maine inland waters must check each trap on a set schedule. From April 2 through October 31, check at least once every 7 calendar days. From November 1 through April 1, check at least once every 21 calendar days. The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife must report by January 1, 2029 on effects and enforcement, and lawmakers may consider changes then.
