North Koochiching sewer membership and seats change

The district includes International Falls, Ranier, and the East Koochiching County Sewer District. South International Falls and the Papermakers Sewer District are no longer listed as members. The seven-member board has three International Falls seats, down from four; two East Koochiching seats, up from one; and one Ranier seat. The board appoints the seventh member at large and sets that member’s term by majority vote. If subdivision 10 requirements are unmet, the retained historical fallback uses the service area on December 31, 1985, with one seat per local government. The changes take effect the day after the district’s governing body and chief clerical officer complete local approval requirements under Minnesota Statutes §645.021, subdivisions 2 and 3. The law sets no household rate or fee changes.
