Court fee relief for tribes and advocates

Minnesota's Office of Ombudsperson for American Indian Families pays no district court fees under this law in covered cases. Federally recognized tribes and their representatives receive the same exemption. Covered cases include child support enforcement or changes, medical assistance enforcement, and parentage cases, including proceedings under section 484.702. The exemption also covers civil commitment under chapter 253B, public guardian or conservator appointments, and other actions under chapters 252A and 525. It covers court relief under chapters 256, 257, 260, 260A, 260B, 260C, 260D, and 518, and sections 524.5-201 through 524.5-317.
