Hemp businesses keep more testing options

Minnesota extends an alternative lab-testing option through May 31, 2027, effective the day after final enactment. It covers lower-potency hemp edibles and hemp-derived consumer products without intoxicating cannabinoids. Labs using this option must hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation with specific accreditation for cannabis testing. Cannabis and hemp businesses must still have a representative batch sample tested before selling or transferring cannabis flower, cannabis products, artificially derived cannabinoids, lower-potency hemp edibles, or hemp-derived consumer products. Testing must use a licensed cannabis testing facility or an eligible alternative lab, and the sample must pass state testing standards.
