Drivers must stop for school bus lights
In Minnesota, drivers approaching a stopped school bus with flashing red lights must stop at least 20 feet away. This applies on streets, highways, and other locations with the required school bus signs. Drivers must stay stopped until the red lights stop flashing, even without an extended stop arm. Flashing amber lights warn that red lights are coming, and drivers must not move within 20 feet of the bus. The law takes effect the day after final enactment.
